It turns within days of a British downpour, and mouldy seed makes small birds very ill indeed. Most feeders leave it wide open to the weather.
The DryPerch has a wide roof set low over the ports, so when the rain comes in sideways the seed underneath stays dry. A clear chamber shows you at a glance when it needs topping up, and the hanging chain keeps it off the fence where the squirrel launches from.
